I am a dedicated artist who paints fine art in oils. My love, above all, is painting portraits and I learnt my technique by studying the works of the famous artists. I have devoted my whole life to creating beautiful paintings.

Portrait Paintings

When painting a portrait painting I usually work from photographs, as this is more convenient for the client. A personal sitting is desirable but not always possible these days due to other commitments and long distances. A portrait is more convincing if the sitter has a serene expression that could be maintained for many hours. A broad smiling expression does not work quite so well.

Original Paintings

Having spent most of my working time in England as a dress designer my natural bias, when I paint a picture, is the human form and fabric. These subjects capture my imagination mostly, although I do like to paint animals, and occasionally still-life.

Old Master Reproductions

I love the paintings of Renoir, Velazquez, Van Dyke, Ingres, Chardin, Reynolds, Rubens etc. All the great portrait masters are my joy and I wish to emulate them by copying their work to the best of my ability, striving to reach their level of perfection.
